Our Roots

ABOUT GrassRoots Promotion

GrassRoots Promotion is Nashville’s premier promotion company focused exclusively on secondary (small to intermediate) country radio markets in combination with streaming and fan engagement campaigns. Founded in 1996, the company has worked with numerous superstar artists and major labels, as well as dozens of leading independent artists and companies. GrassRoots’ mission is to provide significant exposure for artists in our radio markets as well as on all digital platforms, allowing them to build a solid foundation for touring, streaming, and fan development, and ultimately take their music to a bigger audience.

As the business of music continues to change on an almost daily basis, record labels and artists at every level of the industry are being forced to make significant decisions about how they will adapt to an emerging new business model. GrassRoots is in step with these fundamental shifts, offering our artists the insight and expertise to build careers with deep roots and longevity. Despite the many challenges of today’s industry, there have never been so many promotional and marketing opportunities available to country music artists.

Rebekah Clements

Rebekah’s passion for working in the music industry started as a young child. Her first concert at 5 years old was to see Vince Gill and it was then she knew she wanted to be behind the scenes making things happen in some capacity in the music business. The highlight of her career was when she got to present Vince Gill with an award backstage at the Ernest Tubb record shop.

After college, Rebekah got her feet wet in the music business working at a live music venue in Birmingham, AL before moving back home to Nashville and joining the GrassRoots team as a record promoter. Building relationships and making friends has always come naturally to Rebekah and that's what record promotion is all about. She recently took some time off to have her second son but still helps in the day-to-day duties alongside Teresa and Nancy as the Promotion Director. When she is not working, she is chasing around her two sons somewhere on a soccer field.

Katie Hall

Although Katie Hall is relatively new to the music industry, music has been an important part of her life for as long as she can remember. From family gatherings and road trips to dancing in the living room and singing Shania Twain songs with her sisters, some of her most treasured memories have been shaped by music.

Katie first visited Nashville in 2014 after her mother and sister relocated to the area. As a Canadian experiencing Music City for the first time, she quickly fell in love with its welcoming atmosphere, vibrant community, and passion for live music. Her many visits to Nashville have brought unforgettable experiences and lifelong friendships, and she hopes to one day call Tennessee home.

With more than 10 years of experience in administration and customer service, Katie has worked across the medical, automotive, utilities, and financial industries. She enjoys learning new skills, taking pride in her work, meeting new people, and finding opportunities to help others. She is grateful to bring that same enthusiasm and dedication to the GrassRoots Promotion team.

Outside of work, Katie is a devoted mother to her daughter and a proud dog mom to four furry “children”. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors and hosting lively kitchen karaoke sessions, often accompanied by some unforgettable dance moves!

Shannon Hall-Sutton

Shannon Hall-Sutton has always had a passion for music and the entertainment industry. Some of her earliest memories include gathering around the piano with her family to sing hymns and listening to country legends such as Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, and Elvis while working in her grandparents’ garage. At home, artists like Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Shania Twain provided the soundtrack. Although her playlists now span everything from rock and pop to electronic music, country music will always hold a special place in her heart.

Originally from the small town of Keswick, Ontario (known for its ice fishing), Shannon moved to Nashville with her mother in 2014, shortly after graduating from high school. With less than a month to pack and relocate to a new country, the move was both daunting and exciting. While she still misses her family, poutine, ice skating, and snowy Christmas mornings, Shannon considers the move one of the best decisions she has ever made. Nashville has given her unforgettable experiences, meaningful friendships, and opportunities she never imagined—including going backstage at the Grand Ole Opry and meeting Randy Travis.

After arriving in Nashville, Shannon studied Music Business at Volunteer State Community College. She joined GrassRoots Promotion as an intern, assisting with administrative responsibilities while completing her degree. Following graduation, she expanded her experience across social media, streaming, and artist management before being promoted to Radio Tour Manager in 2022. Shannon is grateful to work alongside such a dedicated team and talented roster of artists.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and family, walking her dog, Rocky, attending concerts, photography, and playing guitar.
